E.L. Cook
E. L. Cook is a self-taught artist, and the owner of Counsel and Canvas Art Gallery. Originally from Los Angeles, CA, Cook fuses life and his work experiences into diverse artistic interpretations. By the mid-1990's his artwork was displayed in over 80 bookstores, several galleries, museums, and gift shops across the nation. Additionally, Cook's art has been featured on the television show, ”Moesha" and, more recently, at the San Bernardino County Museum. His painting style is heavily inspired by the artwork of Frida Khalo, Archibald Motley Jr., and Annie Lee.

Inspired by Fire Station #30, located at 1401 Central Avenue in Los Angeles, was established in 1913. Fire Station #30 is now home to the African American Firefighter Museum.
